Job Description:
A Registered Nurse may supervise duties performed by LPNs and CNAs in a team care setting under the direction of the Nurse Manager, Nursing Supervisor, and Director of Nursing.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct care and treatment to long-term and rehabilitation resident Provide assessment and documentation of residents under their care Initiates and administers Intravenous treatments Communicates with the Nursing team and medical team as appropriate Reviews and evaluates the resident care plan Transcribes Physician orders May assist in orientating new staff Maintains competency in all site-specific tasks required by the facility Work closely with RN Supervisor to ensure the best possible functions of the assigned unit Consults and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess, implement, and evaluate patient care plans Prepares and administers, and records prescribed medications Records patients' medical information and vital signs Assesses the patient's ability to do routine daily tasks Recognizes and manages geriatric syndromes common to older adults, including cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary, hematological, musculoskeletal, endocrine, neurological, psychiatric/psychosocial, integumentary, sensory, and pain problems Prepares equipment and aids the physician during the examination and treatment of the patient Communicate with family members regarding patient Records all care information concisely, accurately, and entirely, promptly, in the appropriate format, and on the appropriate forms Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on the assignment setting REQUIREMENTS:
